Not so Hell’s Kitchen

Gordon Ramsey, the world’s most famous chef, has excitingly opened up a restaurant in The Atlantis, Dubai. Expectations were high, bellies were hungry, and being my best friend’s birthday, I needed the day to be magical and memorable.

Bread Street Kitchen ticked all the boxes on our magical day checklist. The ambiance wasn’t as intimidating as one could imagine a Gordon Ramsey kitchen to be. The interior and decor of the restaurant was welcoming and didn’t scream fine dining; was glam casual. The attending staff had complete knowledge of the menu and were welcoming.

What we ordered:

We were welcomed with the softest freshly baked bread and the creamiest in house butter. Oh my heavens oh! We could just fill up on that alone. As never having tried scallops before, we were giddy in anticipation! Knowing Gordon takes his scallops seriously, we could be assured that he wouldn’t disappoint. The scallops were baked to perfection, chilling on a bed of creamy sweet corn puree, topped with crispy chicken skin. Drooling just thinking back ! The scallops were sweet lil suckers, perfectly seasoned 🙂

Appetisers Umami Score: 10/10 !

For mains, we wanted to try Mama Gordon’s recipe of Shepherds Pie. This was a food version of a warm cozy hug your mom gives you. The bed of mashed potatoes was fluffy and delicious, topped with extremely flavourful braised lamb, onions, carrots, brioche garlic crumbs and crushed pistachios. Nom nom ! 🙂

Our second main order was the short rib beef burger.  Although delicious, it didn’t quite pack a punch and we could do with not re-ordering it. The burger was topped with Monetery jack cheese and a Sriracha mayo.  The chips that came along, were crispy and crunchy and were the perfect pairing.

Our meal ended with an uber special treat from the Chef … Needless to say, we can’t wait to go back ! Eager to try his famous Beef Wellington 🙂 We also highly recommend visiting the Lost Chambers Aquarium after; the jellyfish had us mesmerised !
